Today we are talking about choosing the name of the domain name, setting the domain name, and how to set up the mailbox.
There is no routine to choose a domain name, and you don’t need to spend too much time and energy on it. The name is actually not as important as you think.
The first thing to show is how to obtain a domain name and how to register a domain name through the Shopify backend.
1. Log in to Shopify, click Online store–>Domains:
2. Click on buy new domain in the upper right corner:
3. Enter the domain name you want to purchase in the blank box.
You can try first to see if the name in your myshopify second-level domain name can be registered as a .com domain name, copy the name in front of myshopify in the website address:
Paste it into the blank box of domain name purchase to see if the domain name of .com can be purchased:
As shown in the screenshot above, the domain name of .com is no longer available for purchase. Second, you can add the in front of the name to see if it can be purchased.
As shown in the screenshot above, we can purchase the domain name of thetesttest.com. Of course, your domain name can also be inconsistent with your myshopify second-level domain name. For example, we can name it test for 2019, then the domain name to be purchased is testfor2019.com
4. After confirming the domain name, click Buy to purchase the domain name, and then you will enter the settlement process. All you have to do is submit your credit card information.
5. After the payment is successful, you will receive a verification email in your mailbox.
Click on the verification information.
Go back to the Shopify–>Domains section, refresh the page, you can see the domain name you purchased is displayed at the top of the page:
By default, you will automatically get an info mailbox and sales mailbox. In other words, if someone sends an email to your info mailbox, the email will be automatically forwarded to the corresponding mailbox on the right of your info such as gmail mailbox.
Info mailbox and sales mailbox can also be deleted, just click delete next to it. If we are still on this page, to add a new email address, click add forwarding email address.
If at this time, we clicked on another page, such as clicking on products to the product page, and then want to go back to the domain name section to add an email. Just click domains-->manage. Then click add forwarding email address.
Enter the mailbox name such as support in the pop-up window, the suffix is already there, no need to enter it. Then enter another forwarding email address and save it at the end. So if a customer sends an email to your support mailbox, the email will be forwarded to the gmail mailbox below you.
After setting the mailbox with the domain name suffix, we have to go back to Settings and set the customer service mailbox.
Click Settings–>General, write support@abc.com's mailbox in the customer service mailbox, and save it.
If the domain name we purchased is inconsistent with the store name previously set, then the store name must be modified here. For example, the store name used in the previous registration was testtest. After we purchased the domain name thetesttest.com, we had to change the store name to The Test Test.
Next, we have to put our contact information on the Contact Us page.
Click Online store–>Pages–>Contact Us, enter the customer service time and contact email, and finally save.
Next, edit the content in Preferences.
Click Preferences, enter your store name in the subject title, and then fill in the meta description of the homepage. You can Google search to see how other websites are written, try to add keywords in the description.
The following Google analysis tools and FB pixel ID will be explained in detail later.
The above is today's content.
