Today, I will briefly introduce this POD mode to everyone. I will not explain it in depth, because there is too much content.
POD is Print On Demand, which is customized service. In fact, it is very simple to make customized services, because all you have to do is to put the design drawing on an item, which can be anything like clothes, gloves, cups, etc.
The reason why the customized service is so awesome is because you can make a special design for a certain audience. Let me give a few examples.
Go to https://teespring.com/shop/best-selling-tshirts.
Let’s take a look at what the top-selling products are like and why these products are selling well. Later I will tell you which POD plugins are available on Shopify and the third-party service providers I would like to cooperate with.
Let’s take a look at IT'S A NANA THING this T-shirt first:
There are other styles of this T-shirt. Click on the text marked in the red box in the screenshot above to open the other styles. Everything else is the same, just replace NANA with other text.
The target audience is very clear, that is, grandmother. This kind of T-shirt is specially designed for a certain audience. You can't find this kind of product on AliExpress.
Next is this CNA sweater.
I'm not sure what exactly this CNA means, it is possible that it is designed for a certain professional audience.
The title of the vest below clearly states the location and gender of the audience: Women in Texas.
So when doing FB ads, choose Texas for geographic location and female for gender, and the audience is very clear.
The following T-shirt is clearly aimed at men who like to read.
When you do FB advertising, the audience is set to American men, and your interests can be books such as popular books such as Harry Potter. We can find the most suitable audience for this design.
There is a problem here, our design must not infringe. For example, in the above T-shirt, if our problem on the T-shirt is designed as: I read Harry Potter past my bedtime, then it will be infringing.
But a design like the above will not infringe. We can only set the target audience as fans of Harry Potter books when advertising.
The design pattern of the long-sleeved T below is a rhino, and users who may like rhinos will buy it. The text above may be a brand name.
The sweater below should be a brand name. After checking, Cody Orlove and Zoe Loverne are a pair of lovers. This design should be used to commemorate their relationship.
So how can we create a POD shop?
Very simple, we can do it through a third-party website or Shopify plugin.
The third-party website has the teespring.com we mentioned earlier, customink.com is also possible, customink is much more expensive, but the product quality is also very good.
Let's take a look at what plugins in Shopify can implement customized services.
Open apps.shopify.com, enter print on demand in the search box and search:
We are familiar with printify, printful, customcat.
After installing these plug-ins, if someone purchases a customized product in our shop, the customer's information will be automatically sent to these service providers, and then the service providers will start to arrange all things such as production and delivery.
Of course, we can also do customized services through teespring.
Click shop to view all categories:
For example, we have to look at the category of entertainment:
After clicking, you can see all kinds of good designs, and you can also find design inspiration from them.
The focus of POD is design, so how can a design be made?
You can find a designer on websites such as fiverr or upwork. Just search for tshirt design on the website.
I only use fiverr when there is really no alternative, because the quality of the designers above is uneven. Generally, I will upwork first. I will find some excellent designers on it. They know exactly what they want to do, what kind of documents to send to me, and the size specifications of the design.
There is one thing to keep in mind when designing, never copy other people's work! If you sell a plagiarized design as your own product, you will encounter a lot of trouble, and infringement will cause a lot of problems.
Therefore, when you ask a designer to do a design, you must tell him: I need you to design something like this, and you must not copy it.
Designers on Fiverr may be plagiarized, and the design on upwork will be more unique.
POD is actually very simple, everyone can do it, and the profit margin is large, but you have to understand the design and how to make your design meet the needs of the market.
For example, for FB advertising, suppose you target the mothers of 0-12 months old babies. You can design a T-shirt and say: Hey I have a surprise for you, I'm pregnant with a boy/girl.
So when we advertise, we can target mothers with babies from 0-12 months, including pregnant women.
The above is what I want to say about POD.
Continue to the second part, find and imitate other people’s shops
Pay attention to the wording. I am talking about imitating other people's stores, not copying other people's things. I am very anti-copying and copying other people's stores, business is not doing this, but imitation is possible.
To imitate other people's stores, you must first find their stores. Google Search Off
Word+myshopify.com, everyone should know this method.
For example, search for "dogs" + myshopify.com, so you can find many Shopify stores in this niche.
We can also Google top shopify stores. In this way, you can find some articles recommending excellent Shopify stores. We can see what products these stores sell and what the layout of the stores looks like.
We can also find other excellent stores through reverse domain name resolution.
Each independent website has an IP address, which is where the server is located. All I have to do is find Shopify's IP address. You can Google search shopify store ip address:
You can also find the IP address through other tools. For example, I know that there is a Shopify beauty shop called jeffreestarcosmetics, then we can put the domain name of this shop in infobyip.com and search, so that we can also find the IP address:
Then, we need to find a reverse domain lookup tool. Google search reverse domain lookup and you can see that there are many tools, some of which are free, and some have to be paid.
For example, we used the following tool to find some shops. You can copy these store addresses and open them to enter the store to see other people's products and layouts. According to my experience, some of the shops found with this tool are closed shops.
But the stores we found using viewdns.info are basically still open stores. After copying and pasting the IP address to search, you can see 1,000 domain names. If you want to get the complete information of 1,333,909 domain names, you have to download the complete report for $249.
Suppose you are looking for a cosmetics store, you can search costmetics with ctrl+F, and you can find different beauty stores.
For example, we searched for 999 Shopify store domain names from yougetsignal.com. We can enter these stores to see the products and layout of these stores.
The above store data is constantly changing. If you want to download the complete data, you need to pay.
The above is to find the content of other shops. If you are very clear about which stores you are looking for, for example, you are looking for a beauty store, then you can accurately find your competitors through the above methods.
