America's top wealthy has recovered most of their worth, collective net assets increased by 37%

According to the latest report from Wealth-X, the wealth research company, the wealthiest North Americans (classified as those with a net worth of at least $30 million) have recovered most of their wealth in the early stages of the epidemic. From the end of March to the end of August, its collective net assets increased by 37%, reaching approximately US$12.5 trillion (approximately 85 trillion yuan).

Although compared with the end of 2019, the assets of the wealthy Americans have decreased by 3%, but this has greatly exceeded the recovery speed of overseas ultra-high net worth individuals. The report stated that global wealth is still 9% lower than the level at the end of 2019. During the same period, the number of wealthy individuals in North America with a worth of at least US$30 million (approximately RMB 204 million) also increased by 28% to 104,440.

Maya Imberg, senior director of Wealth-X, attributed the stock market's rise to the stock market boom. Despite high unemployment and declining company profits, it has basically made up for all losses in the early stages of the epidemic. Statistics show that, overall, North America accounts for 36% of the global ultra-high net worth population.
