Welcome to follow Ruoyousi CS and share your journey along the way.

The ancients have said: "The magnificence, weirdness, and extraordinary view of the world often lie in the danger and far, and the infrequent of human beings. The more inaccessible the people, the more rare wonders to see."

The beauty of Xinjiang is not limited to grasslands, deserts, snow-capped mountains, lakes...and the mysterious uninhabited land.

Yadan landform, Gobi Desert, ancient Silk Road... These words all point to a place where there is a world-class landscape, and here is the no-man's land of the Dahaidao.

It is the most legendary section of the Silk Road and the closest road to the Western Regions in ancient times. It is the most secret of the 14 known ancient Silk Roads.

The Dahaidao was opened in the Han Dynasty, but due to the harsh and dangerous geographical environment, its use tended to cease after the Tang Dynasty. Gradually, the Dahaidao gradually faded out of people's vision.

From Dunhuang to the west, passing through Hami and then to Turpan, a total of more than 500 kilometers. There is no one there, and the yellow sand is endless, and there is no trace of life.

In July, starting from Urumqi, Xinjiang, we will take you around Dahaidao.

The name "Da Da Dao" is derived from the fragment of the Tang Dynasty "Xizhou Picture Classic" in the Dunhuang manuscripts.

"Xizhou Picture Classic" records: "The Dahai Road. The right road exits from the boundary of Liuzhong County (now Lukeqin), and the southeast faces Shazhou (now Dunhuang) for 1,360 miles. There is often drifting sand, pedestrians go wrong, there are The spring wells are salty and bitter, and there is no grass. Traveling to carry water and grain, walking on the sand and stone, the traffic is difficult."

When entering Dahaidao, remember that you must have a professional self-driving guide and do not enter recklessly.

There is no cell phone signal here, even if there is a trace of signal, navigation will not work here, because there is no road at all.

Moreover, two or more vehicles are required to enter. If a bicycle enters a trap, it is difficult for a vehicle to pass by for rescue.

Entering Dahaidao from an unknown path, a sign was erected on it, which read: "It is forbidden to enter Dahaidao without approval."

At the beginning, there were traces of human activities on the roadside, and the more you drove in, it became more and more barren.

It is hard to imagine how people at that time traveled through this ancient Silk Road trail, which remains in historical memory.

Many years ago, this no man's land of hundreds of kilometers had no post and no supplies at all. Even the most courageous and experienced practitioners will be discouraged.

Dahaidao is hot and dry all year round, and there is no trace of vitality. Looking around, there are vast Gobi everywhere.

This majestic world of Danxia is a world created by nature's magical swords.

Why do you like such a desolation, probably, in line with the desolation of your heart.

The best time to enter Dahaidao is from April to May, October to November, and the weather is more comfortable.

The team leader said that this was also the first time he entered the Dahaidao in July. The dashboard in the car shows an outdoor temperature of 48 degrees Celsius.

It's hard to imagine how courage it takes to get out of the car under a 48-degree exposure.

For lunch, I found the shadow of the cliff wall, and waited for the pepper chicken in the car refrigerator to defrost. Learn the tone of the locals, say "kill a watermelon", eat a naan, a watermelon and a naan are standard.

This hot lunch is an unforgettable memory.

As the car drove in, there was a water source here, it was amazing!

Water source

Where there is water, there is life. Near the water source, green plants grow. Under this desolation, the green of life makes people sigh.

After passing the water source, and then driving in, it is the Mars base. Here is the most Mars-like place on earth.

Mars base

There is a simulated space capsule on the Mars base, you can stay here with a toilet.

In the next few days, I went to another Mars base in Erboliang Yadan, Mangya, Qinghai, and there was a comparison. Go back and slowly share two Mars bases with you.

Compared to a Mars base, I prefer camping in no man’s land. It is a pity that this season is too hot for camping.

In the evening, when we drove from here to downtown Hami, a small partner got stuck in the car midway. So don't really drive to Dahaidao alone in a car, it's too dangerous.

I have to say that the old drivers in our team are very experienced in judging road conditions. In the absence of navigation, it is like a living map.

In the rear mirror, the barrenness is getting farther and farther away from me. When the sun sets, we drive out of no man's land.

This is a shallow trip to the Great Dahai Road, and I feel the endless beauty left behind by the Silk Road. I hope I can feel it more deeply next time.

This is my 23rd trip to Xinjiang. Many people asked me why I went to Xinjiang so many times?

I want to say that the more places you reach, the more places you haven't visited. Arrange to return to Dahaidao in October and complete a careful wish for camping in no man's land.
