South African President: South Africa is ready for a full recovery

China News Agency, Johannesburg, October 6 (Reporter Wang Xi) The South African Presidential Palace issued a statement on the 6th, stating that the South African President and chairman of the ruling ANC Party Ramaphosa pointed out at the ANC Executive Committee meeting on the evening of the 5th. At present, South Africa is ready for a full recovery.

Recently, with the gradual improvement of the new crown pneumonia epidemic in South Africa and the continuous recovery of the South African currency rand exchange rate, the South African government has relaxed its control of the epidemic and fully implemented its economic recovery plan. Ramaphosa pointed out, "If we focus on implementation, all this will happen. Now is to arrange the order of implementation so that we can meet the needs."

But he pointed out that South Africa must control its rising national debt and stabilize public debt, which is essential for continued reconstruction and recovery. "In order to stabilize public finances, budget deficits must be reduced, and borrowing costs must also be effectively managed."

In addition, Ramaphosa emphasized that the South African government will spare no effort to crack down on various crimes including corruption.

A few days ago, under the auspices of the Executive Committee of the African National Congress, a series of anti-corruption actions have resulted in the arrest of many South African dignitaries and stakeholders, and they face criminal proceedings. This move has aroused widespread concern in South African society.

In response, Ramaphosa invited many South African politicians, including former South African President Mbeki, to participate in the ANC Executive Committee meeting on the evening of the 5th. At the meeting, Mbeki and others affirmed the work done by the South African government in curbing crime and said that the cooperation between South African law enforcement agencies and the Executive Committee of the ANC is commendable.

Ramaphosa said that criminal activities such as corruption have caused the South African society and economy to pay a huge price. When fighting crime and corruption, the South African government must take all decisive actions.
