For northerners, the place they most want to go in winter is usually the warm south, while for southerners, red leaves and ginkgo in late autumn are the most eye-catching, so the birds fly north and travel to Beijing as the head. Cities chasing autumn and enjoying autumn have become popular tourist activities.

Generally speaking, the most popular red-leaf resort in Beijing is Xiangshan Park, but the crowded scenes will affect the shooting. If you want to avoid the crowds, it is a good choice to go to the farther suburbs to play.

The Mutianyu Great Wall is located in the Huairou District of Beijing. It has not been as well-known as the Badaling Great Wall. However, it is known as the "Great Wall of Ten Thousand Miles, Mutianyu Unique Show", which shows the beauty of this section of the Great Wall.

Other Great Walls are usually steep and relatively laborious to visit. Except for a few sections of the Mutianyu Great Wall that are relatively physically demanding, most sections of the Great Wall are easy to walk.

The Mutianyu Great Wall was built on the hillside. Because of the altitude, the leaves here change color earlier than in Beijing and Huairou.

In the late autumn, passing through the ticket gates to enter the scenic area, walking along the winding Great Wall all the way forward, it feels like rhythm with a long dragon. In this season, the mountains are full of forests. Due to the different types of vegetation, different altitudes, and different sunlit sides, the hills present a colorful visual effect, which is richer than a single red or golden layer.

The Mutianyu Great Wall is 73 kilometers away from Beijing’s urban area. The digital distance still feels relatively long. However, Beijing’s traffic is well developed, and it does not take long to travel by car or bus.

Although it is far away from the city and not as famous as the Badaling Great Wall, foreigners seem to like to come here more. When I went to play in the past, I felt that the number of foreigners along the way almost caught up with the number of Chinese. It is worth mentioning that the heads of many countries and former heads once climbed the Mutianyu Great Wall, such as Clinton and Major, which shows that this section of the Great Wall is very representative.

The Mutianyu Great Wall is the essence of the Great Wall of the Ming Dynasty. It was originally the site of the Great Wall of the Northern Qi Dynasty. The general of the Ming Dynasty Xu Da was ordered to station here for a period of time and personally supervised the construction of this section of the Great Wall.

Compared with other incomplete Great Walls, the Mutianyu Great Wall has undergone many repairs before and after, and overall it is very well preserved. There are important landscapes such as Zhengguan Terrace, Big Horn Tower, Eagle Flying Upside Down and so on.

In the beginning, Mutianyu was just a remote mountain village, with undulating hills, lush forests, and extremely dangerous terrain. The Northern Qi Dynasty and Ming Dynasty courts were fancying the potential of Xiongguan here to build the Great Wall. Although the Mutianyu Great Wall is no longer a building to resist foreign enemies, in ancient times, this section of the Great Wall was an important barrier to guard Gyeonggi.
